Lubbock (day 3) to Lake Abilene Texas State Park

Wed March 1 – Woke up in Lubbock in the RV in the Croziers driveway.  Goodbyes to all except Trevor who had already hit the road for work.  Jim and I decided we needed a picture of Ginny with Rocky.  As I look at the picture now, it is impossible to determine his size while he is sitting. I should have had him standing, cause he looks so much bigger and stouter.  Anyway, his little friend (Ginny) is leaving Lubbock. I think he will miss her more than she will miss him.

I was advised this morning that I had two errors with regards to the foosball tournament that was played last night.  Trevor never lost. He just quit playing.  And Kelly never played against Trevor. She says she knows better.  The only time Trevor ever loses is when two of the kids double team him or there is the rare game that Nik wins.

Lubbock is full of cotton fields.  Cotton season has yet to begin, but there are some unplowed fields with last year’s cotton plant stubs and here is a cotton plant that missed harvest.

Because the fields are plowed in the spring for cotton planting and there is so much wind, Lubbock tends to have dust storms.  We had one such storm last night.  And as windy as Idaho Falls can be, I think Lubbock is windier.

There were hours and hours of windmills as far as the eye could see.  Some oil wells too, but this is windmill country.

We stayed the night at the campground at Lake Abilene Texas State Park.  We walked the Elm Creek Nature Trail which was a little over a mile.
