Lake Abilene State Park to Austin, TX (day 1)

Thursday March 2 – we woke up at the state park and after packing up, drove through the rest of the park.  There were white tailed deer out at an early hour.

This was also a CCC camp. We drove to the CCC water tower and did I say it was “spring” here??

Look closely for Jim and Ginny

We took a scenic drive south through Hill Country which included Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn Caverns. We just did a drive through of these parks and took a photo at a scenic overlook towards Marble Falls, TX.

We drove into Austin at the south end and headed north to the Oak Forest RV park.  After we were settled, we drove over to Chrissy’s for some mole and red enchiladas for dinner. And beer.

After dinner, Chrissy modeled the resized wool coat that belonged to her Grandma Mason. This coat was hand woven and hand sewn and worn regularly by her grandma.

Ginny and Chelsea are getting to know each other.  The best dog interaction so far. But look at Ginny's face.  What? Another Dog? Why?

We leave for our next cowboy shoot tomorrow. The match is this Saturday in San Antonio but we will return to Austin and Chrissy on Sunday afternoon.
