This blogging is more difficult than I imagined. Lets just say that between using my computer or my phone and the 4G or the wifi; I settled o my computer at the Hitch-N-Post RV park in Kanab, UT today.
We started our adventure on Sunday, February 12, 2017. We left our home with plenty of snow still in the front yard and headed south. We were looking for the sun!
We got ahold of our nephew, Nik, in Provo. He is attending BYU and we decided to pick him up for dinner. Since it was a Sunday evening, he was getting ready for classes the next day. But we said we'd buy dinner and he could bring his girlfriend, Emily. We went to an authentic Mexican restaurant and could have had tripe, head, or tongue. Or just "beef" or "pork" (whatever that means). So I had the gringa. It appeared to be a small taco. Then a big quesadilla and some three milk cake. We had a lot of fun talking about his current classes and jobs. Emily was fun too. She used to live only 30 miles from us when she attended BYU-I in Rexburg. We finished dinner and took Nik back to his apartment. We had to check it out, so we could report back to his parents. Ha!
We spent the night at a small RV park near Utah Lake State Park. The original plan was to stay at the state park, but the campground wasn't yet open. When we returned to the RV, I was really upset!! I forgot to take a picture of all of us for this blog. I asked Nik if he had one he could share, so he sent me this one:
Monday morning, I looked out the window and there was a small business that was near the Provo airport. Seems they collected signage.
Monday morning we left Provo and headed to Mt. Pleasant, UT. Jim attended Wasatch Academy as a junior in high school. We walked around campus and walked around town. His dorm was Lincoln Hall. Now international students attend for $30,000 a year.
We drove from Mt. Pleasant south to Bryce Canyon National Park. On the way, roads were clear and we saw several herds of deer. Maybe 50 total. By taking the backroads we were able to see wildlife and very little traffic. Only one campground was open at Bryce. There were three campers including us. No wonder:
Here we spent Monday night.
